The Romany Trophy

Miss Montague Johnson and Miss Meg Williams founded the Romany kennels, undoubtedly the first name which comes to mind when thinking of Coloured Bull Terriers.  Their outstanding work produced so many champions there are too many to mention but one thing is sure - they totally changed the future of this breed.

This very prestigious award is given to commemorate those two ladies who gave so much to the improvement of the Coloured Bull Terrier over many years.

Judges report of
The Romany Trophy Competition - 20th November, 2016

Judge - Chris Wright (Rightstuff)

I must thank the committee for inviting me to judge such an important trophy in the bull terrier world, also all the exhibits that arrived on the day.

Winner – Ch Emred Devil’s Advocate

Red and white dog super power packed head, well placed ears, wicked expression. Mouth ok, good length of neck, into good shoulders, straight front, short back, well let down quarters, well sprung ribs,  moved in a jaunty bull terrier way.  Pleasure to award him the trophy.

Runner up – Cigano Dark Night for Affanbul

Black brindle and white dog another very good dog with powerful head well turned with good mouth.  Good eye well placed ears, cobby type short back, straight front and good quarters.  Moved parallel both ways when settled.

Best opposite sex – UKUSA Jezebel to Neverland

Brindle and white bitch, very substantial girl, heavy weight, good head with correct mouth, long neck with moderate length to back, straight front and strong quarters that carry her along very well on the move.
